Advantage ZX6 alarm help!

Hi,

We have recently bought a house with an advantage ZX6 alarm. We changed the code from the one that the previous owners used.

However, we are now having trouble when setting the alarm as follows....

We press the " Full House" button and receive the confirmation noise that the system is ready, then press the "Tick" button and get the "get out the house now" noise.

All of this seems to be working fine, however, when we come back into the house through the front door, the alarm goes off IMMEDIATELY. We do not get any time to enter the code.

Obviously this is going to annoy our neighbours somewhat. Are we doing anything wrong?

Maybe just maybe , have a look and see , turn off all power and disconnect the battery if it has a external one and take off the cover of the alarm and look and see if zone 1 is wired , zone 1 should be your exit /entry zone , if zone 1 is not wired as in a wire in one terminal and another wire in the other terminal , I think who ever installed the alarm first time did not wire your entry / exit .probably your front door to this circuit , if this is so find the cables coming from your front door and connect them to zone 1 and it should be ok. If this is not so what might be wrong is that the pir that picks you up coming home is wired to a zone that triggers a alarm straight away , you may have to make this zone 2 as it is pre programmed as a walk through zone and this might be part of the problem .
