Hi All,

I need to get some cables (power, co-ax and phone) across a fireplace.

I am going to put a gas fire, hearth etc back into the gap.

What is the best way to do this? I was thinking either chase through the wall above the opening or deepen the gap where the hearth floor meets the wall and protect the cables in a metal conduit???

Thanks

Lee

If you chase above the fire place no one is likely to know there is a cable buried there.
Best to run the cables in steel conduit where the heat from the fire is unlikely to affect them.

I hope those brass sockets aren't touching damp plaster. They wont be brass for long.
