Hi,

I would like some general help and assistance on narrowing down my options.

Excluding the bathrooms, I would like to install the same color/pattern/type of flooring in the entire house if possible. So, kitchen, entrance, living room, stairs, landing and bedroom. The same flooring. I am looking for a non-carpet solution, as I am not a fan of carpets. Also, I want something which in the long term is easy to fix. So, I am not in favour of laminates which require the entire flooring from one corner to be ripped up if there is a problem anywhere in the room.

First of all, is it really an option to have the same flooring in the entire house or do I have to go with carpets? If so, any help and advice would be highly appreciated.

Best regards,

Cork tiles.

Warm, resilient, quiet. When sealed (after laying) will take moderate moisture in kitchens and bathrooms. Individual tiles can be lifted and replaced and the floor re-sealed.

You can also get commercial carpet tiles which have a very short pile and aren't really carpet-y but benefit from being soft(ish) and warm compared to hard surface tiles. They can be lifted and washed if necessary.

LVTs are a good bet. Look and feel great. Can get up if needed quite easy ( if the right adhesive is used ) easy to clean, endless designs too.
They start around £12m2 up to £50 depends which one you go for.
Also there is a new one out called Karndean looselay which is not glued and no expansion needed.

Thank you very much. Very helpful responses.

What about the stairs? Can cork tiles or LTVs be put on the stairs as well? For cork tiles, I have done a google search and there is nothing for stairs.

Regards,

It can yes but I have carpet on my stairs and landing. Only cause its quieter. I have LVT in every room else where.
Not seen any cork for a long time. Uplifted alot though. Nightmare to get up.

Wickes sell standard sealed cork tiles
:D
But might be better looking for bigger ones ...online maybe?
