Air brick

Hi ,

Just a quick question re air bricks… on my house they are just below the do I wondered if it’s possible to move them higher?
My garden runs towards the house and in heavy rain it Collects below the air brick due to the concrete path.

If the air brick can be moved higher how high can it move,
Internally it’s insulated and screed ontop

OP,
Why not post a pic showing a large context around the air bricks?
Do you definitely have suspended floors - what about cavity or solid walls?
Any signs of damp damage inside the house?

You don't want to be inserting telescopic liners above DPC as it creates a cavity bridge (risking internal damp) and thermal bridge (risking internal condensation). They are intended for use below DPC and floor level where there are no risks.

Your post is unclear, some text seems missing and some random!

Firstly, is there actually a problem. If it is surface water, then deal with that.

Drain channels can be useful where paving is higher than air bricks - not for drainage as such, but for venting the air brick. You cut a slot in the back of the channel to vent the air brick and cut a hole in the bottom to drain the channel. But if lots of water is running towards the house, you need to properly drain the channel away from the foundations.

Hi woody,
I could of made it way clearer! Sorry.
The garden slopes towards the house so any rain water sits next to the house, I’m planning on putting aco’s in to get around this issue.
Where my bay window is to be there is a clay soil pipe (drain) that runs exactly where the cavity of my wall would be if it’s a cavity wall I build, the wall which I’m removing for the bay has a air brick in it right in the centre.

The water board won’t let me touch the clay waste pipe and divert it as it’s a shared pipe and they said it will risk a potential
Of blockage to remove that section. Planning have agreed my plans but said they will only accept my plans if there is no change to them so I can’t make the bay smaller or bigger .

As I can’t mover the drain pie I can’t install a telescopic vent but I wondered if I can install
