air conditioning units

Hi there need some advice, I have an old air force b&q, with quick connector, it being re gassed a couple of times but it had it day, can I buy another, different unit ie outside unit and still used the inside part or do I have to replace everything

yes as long as the fittings will match
and its around the same BTU
