What do the regulations say about air operated switches in a bathroom ?.

Press button in bathroom wall compresses a bellow which sends air through a plastic tube to another bellows operating a switch outside the bathroom.

They're fine. That's how many a spa bath works - plungers in the bath operate the controls.

I was thinking about an incident some years back when "regulations" were quoted to prevent air switches being used in a bath room.

They are as you say very safe.

I am thinking in advance for an upgrade to a bathroom where a large push button switch would be the prefered method for a disabled person to operate the light.

Not very pleasing to look at, but you could use masterseal?

Or do what I've done in my kids bedrooms. I've used a din rail relay & tranformer set up linked to SELV PTM switches to trigger the relay to switch the light on. Thus only 24V at the switch.
