He was talking about air source heat pumps

Gas uses 1kwh of gas to produce 0.9kwh of heating, a heat pump uses 1kwh to produce 3 to 4 kwh of heat

The only real difference is air con.

They all do the same thing “poorly”

My main contention is they aren’t up to heating an average house, you need a massive cylinder and the COP needs to work.

No works both ways, either takes heat from inside the house or from the condenser outside
