Hi Everyone,
I need to replace a faulty shower pump. It is located in the airing cupboard (access from the hallway). The cupboard also houses a cold water tank and hot water cylinder. Currently, the pump is hard wired, however, I thought I could install a regular 3 pin socket instead to connect the pump (so I can plug the new pump without cutting off the plug). Would this be against regulations (perhaps all electrical appliances need to be hard wired in the airing cupboard)? Thanks in advance for your input.

Can't think why not.

Just change the FCU for a socket.

Does it piggy back off the immersion heater circuit?

Does it have RCD protection?

Thanks Securespark. It does have RCD protection and it is on a separate circuit to immersion heater.
