Are there any products i could use other than a dialler/text such as an email alert that accepts a negative trigger and sends a preset response via email

Im currently playing with a device called phantomlink (www.phantomlink.com)

Which does this but i wouldnt recommend it for commercial use.

Currently trying to figure out how to wire it to my scanny 9448

most defo.

I've built two devices and they both work, just the issue of -ve / +ve to resolve and I'm done!

thanks.

the phantom link is a diy project rather then an off the shelf product.

So far its cost be about £50 to make, including ordering the pcb from the designer, and having the chips programmed.

I purchased the PCB, capacitors and resistors from the states (the digikey parts were provided and i didn't have time to look them from the uk as my local maplin didn't stock the correct tolerance or values of the components, sizes etc), the wifi board i got from the uk, and PIC i managed to find someone online to kindly program and supply for £10 (for three!)

One thing to watch out for is if you do order the components from digikey - you will be hit with 20% VAT on it, so factor that into your costing.

Also you will need the correct PIC programmer or someone who can do it for you - ensure you change the device id, and your encryption keys to something you want (rather then the default!)

The designer of the device is very helpful if you need advise or having problems building it, and i am more then happy to help where possible!)
