i heard that one years ago, some lecy board was actulay doing it
 
Well let's face it, at 11kV a 4.0 sq mm cable will carry a fair amount of power.

It's a ring final circuit, fer chrissakes!
 
Reminds me of many moons ago when felow sparks asked me if I installed ring mains and I answered No . Then He said you must install radials for sockets and I said not usually. LOL
 
There was a guide at B&Q that said 4mm2 for 75m2 areas and 2.5mm2 for 50m2 areas. Could be form that.
 
75m² is the max recommended floor area for a 32A radial socket final circuit.
afaik the only time when the CSA needs to be raised to 4mm² for a RFC is when there is thermal insulation involved.
