Owaindiyer, thats it thats the one! There isnt a lot about this system online but I'm going to keep searching to understand benefits, particularly around multi-switch configurations and future proofing for automation. Could be interesting for others as well?
Two points:
1. Those buttons in that link were the only reference i had for you guys, all I needed was a reference to the push button and there it was.
2. I prefer the switches for their function, because I really like the click feel and I have a mild ocd issue about multiway switches always closing either up or down creating chaos in the world. Finally there are some very nice ones out there, can be much better looking than the typical switches.
So no, I would not pepper my house with what you show above, but all in all it can be a neater and better looking solution.
While I'm here ill say I've read that, as I suspected, these impulse relays do allow for better connectivity including allowing for things like an "all off" button next to your front door etc. This is good for me because I cannot justify an app controlled lighting system like you would have for heating, it just makes no sense to me (other than maybe lighting control whilst on holiday or something like that to simulate occupancy). Im not so lazy i cant press a few buttons when I come home in the evening. Heating is another matter heating needs time to warm up, for diffeent rooms at different times etc.
I guess I was confused by the fact that they are not pushbutton switches.
2. I prefer the switches for their function, because I really like the click feel and I have a mild ocd issue about multiway switches always closing either up or down creating chaos in the world.
