I need to replace some lead covering a coping on a church roof. The lead has been stolen and although the easiest and best replacement would be new lead I think it would soon go again.
I also want to replace some lead valleys as they are thin and leaking. Again lead would be the best but the high scrap value stops it being a good choice.
What can you recommend instead of lead? Something that will last a reasonable length of time and has no scrap value.
thanks
John

How about something like glassfibre? Should be able to get it coloured to look right.

I did some step flashing with Ubiflex - never again. What a nightmare that was. If there is no need to pull it around - then fine.

Ubiflex is the wrong colour, Redland do rapid flash, but as with all substitutes wind lift will be a problem.

Thanks for all the replies. I'll look through them and decide which to use. I hope I can find one that does not look like lead as I don't want a thief doing damage to get on the roof to try to steal some covering that the idiot thinks is lead.
Anti-climb paint is a consideration but I'll then get covered in it when working on the roof.
