As soon as I read this report of a 17year old girl being raped by four men, my first thought was ( being politically correct) that they are not of English origin, maybe me being prejudgemental or do I know what is really going on .. who do you think carried out this act before you read the report

Police seek group of men in Slough after teenager rapedA group of men is being sought by police after a 17-year-old girl was raped in Berkshire.

The girl was walking towards Slough High Street on Friday evening when she met the group, and walked with one of them to woods near the Jubilee River.

Police said four of the other men arrived by car and she was then raped in the woods by several of the men.

The girl is being supported by specially-trained officers while inquiries are carried out.

Despite the seriousness of the crime, I was amazed to discover that no national statistics exist: gang rape is simply not recorded as a separate crime category. So over a period of several months we set about collating our own.

So this is all based on a very small number of historical incidences

In 2008 alone, they (the Met Police) received reports of 85 gang rapes. Using the Met's definition of gang rape – those involving three or more perpetrators – we began to look at the number of convictions. We tracked down 29 cases, from January 2006 to March 2009, in which a total of 92 young people were convicted of involvement in gang rape.

One fact stood out. Of those convicted, 66 were black or mixed race, 13 were white and the remainder were from other countries including Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya.

So, not 85%!! Of the 29 cases they cite, 66/92 = 71.2% were non white offenders.


So the figures are not correct, and even if they were, to suggest that

one can ascertain that a considerable % of 85 is Asian

is as laughable as it it is deluded

You need to read the statement again. 13 out of 92 offenders were white, 66 were black or mixed race, and 13 were from Afghan, iraq, libya. So it's 79/92. the 85% figure of non-whites is correct.

I know it is an old article, and things may have changed a lot or little since, but the report seems to suggest there is a poorer attitude towards women in the non-white communities in the uk.

At least you provided some figures to look at rather than make a sweeping unsubstantiated statement based on one or two stories coupled with "wishful thinking". This is the sort of nonsense that colitis claims to be "the truth".

The actual truth of the matter as far as we can glean from the government's own published stats (at least up to 2013)is that there are no obviously available official stats which provide ethnicity of rapists, either gang or otherwise. Maybe someone on here can find them - I gave up after half an hour on google and related websites.
