Not for new installations but presumably there is no requirement to update an existing installation. It may be recommended but there is no requirement.

It wasn't a question I needed an answer to. I was trying to ascertain your understanding of the situation.

And I was not talking about the situation in the south of Ireland.

My point was simply that a blanket statement that "Regulations are never retrospective" is blatantly incorrect.

We've been here before I recall. If you are not living in the south of Ireland your country flag should not be the Southern Irish one.
