Just seen this on a US show. Anyone seen them in the UK? They look a lot better and neater than the big bulky ones I've used before.

Thanks

I bought one from Aldi.....it drilled one hole and then failed at the second.
Useless garbage that even Silverline couldn't match :P
John :)

I've got one somewhere here that's been OK with a fair bit of use. I think mine is Atlas Copco. I can't remember how much it was, or where it came from. Axminster possibly. Only for fairly light work I'd say though.

Yeah the requirement is pilot drill and screw MDF cornices to kitchen wall units, as height clearance isn't enough to get a drill in straight.

With that in mind, the one I showed is not right anyway, as it won't accept round shafts (drill bits) - only hex (screw bits).

Pretty well what I mostly used mine for, awkward pilot holes and small screws in furniture. You can get drills fitted with a hex shank which solve the problem with that right angle adapter, handy for a quick change with a bit holder in the drill as well. I very nearly bit the bullet and bought a right angle drill like one of the Makita ones more than once, but my chronic trouble with short arms and deep pockets stopped me. :)

I have the screwfix one, had it 15 years and use it often, not only for tight spots but when reaching in to the back of cup'ds allows me to screw upwards without getting inside cup'd.

Just looked at the one I have, it's branded AEG not Atlas Copco. The ones of that type all look like the castings are remarkably similar though.

i have the screwfix one and its the same as the one i thought i lost, which i found two days later (theres a law for that, isn't there)
it is a useful tool, which i use on a regular basis
the screwfix one is £8
the one i thought i lost is a fiver from
