Hey guys wonder if somebody could help

Im replacing the light switches today in my hallway , and it is a two way lighting circuit.

Im fitting varilight dimmers the problem being the terminals are marked up differently to the old existing ones and I just wanted to check what should go where.

The current switches are cabled up as follows -

Downstairs -

Common - RED
L1 - Blue
L2 - Yellow

Upstairs

Common - RED
L1 - Blue and Black
L2 - Red and Yellow

Now the varilight dimmers are marked as Live , Load and S

If they were marked the same i could just transpose the wires but I need to double check what goes where.

Can anybody help ?

Hi......

Yes it is , it has a master and a slave unit.

Ive sussed it anyway , The red that was in common went in the 'S' and the red and yellw went into live , and the blue and black into neutral.

Works a treat.

Cheers.

You obviously haven't sussed it if you think a neutral terminal has any business being on a lightswitch.
