I have a question in regards to installing a cooker hood.

My kitchen currently has a small vectaire 1003 extractor in the ceiling centrally in the kitchen, this is constantly on low and when the main kitchen lights are on(stays on low) but i have a switch i can flick on the wall near the main sockets that puts it into its highest speed.

I'm not entirely sure how its wired but it works and i'm assuming perfectly fine (House built 2012)

My question is, id like to rip out the extractor, fish the wire back and use it to power a cooker hood. being that its requires the kitchen lights to be on for its high speed setting does this suggest its part of the lighting circuit? and if so can a cooker hood be ran on said circuit?

Any insight would be appreciated.

Yes, it will be connected to the lighting circuit.
Very common for cooker hoods to be on the lighting circuit as well.

Cheers,

Makes any wiring (hopefully) that little bit easier.
