This is one of 9 holes cut into a brand new ceiling by an NICEIC electrician to fit a 50w halogen down light, Right on the joist and against the cables three are the same. and what made matter worse. HE FITTED THE LIGHTS.

Had the lovley smell of burning wood and plastic. But he said it's perfectly alright and safe to be done like it

This is how he left the lights in the kitchen for 8 weeks whilst trying to get a replacment dimmer switch !!! ignored letter and phone messages requesting he come back and complete the work.

Both !!

He has today been back after a complaint form sent to the NIC and has started to put everything right.

Shame it took a complaint to get things moving, In the firms defence it was not the Bosses that did the work, it was the "lad" even though it should have been checked properly.

They agreed to pay for the whole ceiling to be replaced and re plastered. and also filled out a PIR, i'm guessing this is for the NIC. as i've not had sight of it.

So should hopefully all be OK
