Another spur question

I want to run a spur from a socket on the ring. The existing socket is flush in the wall. The new spur is ok to be surface mounted with surface wiring clipped to the wall. My question is can you get a flush mount socket which enables you to run a surface mounted wire to the spur without cutting a small channel to get to the back of the flush socket. I know you can get switches with a flex outlet but can you get a soket with a cable outlet.

No. Why are you so worried about making a mess getting into the socket back box when the new stuff you're installing is on the surface?

Oh Phuket

Securespark, it was more about saving time running the cable, I dont like surface mount normally but in this case the sockets and cables will be hidden by beds and other furniture

• Use an extension lead?
  
• Put a flex outlet plate next to the socket?
  
• Put a mini-trunking surface box with blanking plate next to the socket, drill diagonally from the rear of that to the socket back box, run new cabling in trunking?
  
• Replace existing socket and add new via installation of a length of dado trunking which will also make it easy for you to extend the ring rather than spur?
