antivirus 360 problem

thanks for all the input but after trying all the above suggestions and some more i found i gave up and have just done a restore on it
could you recommend all the good free stuff for me to put on it such as avast,spybot etc...

This scam is difficult to completely remove. I first thought it was to try to get me to upgrade AVG. When I realised it was not I ran malaware and it appeared to clear it. However, odd things still happened, like blocking common websites. A search for "360" found an av360 file in each user profile in "My Documents". I deleted all of them,ignoring warnings that some programs may not run, then cleared them from the recycle bin. Fingers crossed it seems OK now
