I downloaded the latest version of iTunes but didn't switch off the computer and restart, I carried on using iTunes instead. I have tried offing the computer and rebooting but no change.

Now it doesn't want to work. If I try to open it, uninstall it or reinstall it I get the following message:

"This action is only valid for products that are currently installed"

Then I get:

"The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes.msi' in the box below.

What the hell does all that mean?

Surely you must know the answer you're going to get?

Uninstall iTunes, restart the PC, then install iTunes, following the instructions precisely, including rebooting when it asks you to.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, my friend! You have saved my life! I was awake at 03:30 worrying about this, sat down and tried your suggestion and - SUCCESS!

I see you are in Cambridge - shame, if you were in Lancashire I'd have gladly stood you a pint... or four!

Many thanks again.
