anybody had a look at these?

They say a quick way for testing R1 + R2 also ELI (from what they say).
 
How many lampholders have one of their terminals connected to earth? :wink:

You'll need access to the connections so may as well measure R1+R2 there.
 
One of our guys in in our tools forum, evaluating equipment & deciding what would be helpful for engineers.

He showed me a very similar kit from socket & see. (£50.00)

My response was the same.
 
Seems a waste of time to me.

If you've gone to the trouble of unscrewing the ceiling rose, you have all the connections available for testing anyway.

Besides which, BC lampholders are not polarised, so you can't use this doofer for testing polarity, and you are going to have to keep swapping it round to get the right connections for the tester.
 
No use for R1 + R2 or EFLI, but could be useful for quick fault finding when a neutral is out. Not for that money though.
 
If you really needed these then you'd make em yourself out of old light bulbs
rather than spend that much!
