Anyone have any first hand experience of video baby monitors?

As above. I’m looking for a good one. Any recommendations or tips etc? Do you know anyone who's got one? All I've been told by my son is not to get a Motorola one so I’m ruling them out.

Heard horror stories of people hacking into them and talking to the baby so whatever one you do get change all default usernames/passwords.

Got an old iPhone? You can use it for remote monitoring using ‘presence’ app.
Can be set to notify you if triggered by movement or sound.

For years I have used a cheap wi-fi camera from Amazon. The night vision is excellent in HD and has audio as a back up. I either use my phone or the ipad to view and hear through the app. I don't bother so much with the motion detection as it goes off all the bloody time when my child is wriggling in their sleep.
