I am looking to see why my oil-filled rad has stopped working, and I have discovered that the small component in the middle of this wire must be at fault, but I don't know what it is

The working on it includes "141 deg C" so I am assuming its some sort of temperature fail-safe.....? The other writing on it is too smudgy to read.

Thermal fuse? - often seen buried into large components.

Question is, has is opened the circuit to keep you safe from a failed heater, or has it aged and gone south on its own ?
Probably be able to souce a replacement fuse (RS/CPC etc.)
i.e. RS 176-9283 are 10A, 133.C and might do a 2kW heater.
