Anyone layed stone sets before? (cobbles)

I need some advice bad, i have 40sq yards of 4" depth reclaimed sandstone sets (cobbles) to lay in a week as a drive.

Any ideas how to lay them? they are all similar in depth 3-5".

I was going to do 6" hardcore, but then what else someone told me silver sand would be best and to not use any mortar alt all?

Any ideas?

Yes you'll need the hardcore, very well compacted. You can bed the cobbles on sand, provided you a) mortar the edge ones in and b) you follow the advice on pavingexpert.com. Google it. have fun.
