And I know exactly what error he has made.
He has connected a brown wire to L instead of T1 in the programmer, on the assumption that all brown wires connect to Live. Wrong - particularly in a heating environment.

I don't think its a dark art ,just need to be methodical
I seen both of you answer wiring posts and it clear you know your onions
But not every spark does have that experience in the heating field that you have
