Thank you --yes that is the whole reason for my post as they are all 12v, there are proper 240v 300degree temp ones available that I have since found out from the helpful posts on here.
Those that you see marked as 12v are only so because they are playing safe.
The connector still works at 240v, its just that its not safe if it has no insulation over it, which it cannot have when on the end of an element.
Yes, a decent nichrome/high temp one would be better - but if you cannot get one then you have to go with what you can get.
