Hi, I live in Spain and as it is holiday season cannot get a plumber to help, wondered if anyone can give us advise, we have a Microgenus 23Mi and no hot water, the red light next to the triangle keeps coming on and it is not firing up, we had some works done recently, two radiators taken from the kitchen and two new taps fitted outside, but the plumbers!!! who done this job, say it is nothing to do with what they have done, but I am not too sure, I know we cant fix it ourselves but what would cause this problem....sorry about the epic question

Does the pump run?. It is likely to be air in it somewhere or low system pressure as it has recently had work done on the system, or could be the flow switch.Does it do the same for heating?

still not working

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++

yes it does the same for the heating

What is the water pressure on the guage....I'm sure the red triangle is the low water pressure indicator. Is it the right hand side light of the two next to each other on the front panel?

Hi, the pressure is at 1.5, the light is red next to the circle with triangle in the middle

need to check the pump is running then, put an old towel or something underneath it and undo the centre screw, then turn the boiler on and make sure the spindle is turning.. a bit of water will come out but not too much. Also when you undo a radiator bleed from a high rad does the water shoot out?, pressure guages don't always read correctly.

If all those checks come back as ok then to be honest my next check would be the main circuit flow switch on the left hand side of the boiler with 2 wires going to it. Isolate the power and check these wires are a sound connection, after that you are going to need to call a heating engineer.

thankyou, maybe calling an engineer is our only hope, just cant seem to get anyone here until september!!!!!!!!! :(

Estoy disponible, si el precio es bastante... 8)

I've got 125 Ariston documents but not one for that boiler!
Chaps could this just be a case of a pressure switch sticking/having dirt in it. Too much of a coincidence that the system was depressurised isn't it?

It might be a version of boiler which was only available with that designation in mainland Europe so is close to something over here. Can anyone confirm?

The Microgenus 23MI is listed on the Spanish site of Ariston, but I couldn't get access to download the installation / servicing instructions, only the user's instructions. However it appears to be the open flue version of the 23MFFI, which is probably similar to our 24MFFI. I think open flue combis are much more common in Spain than UK. No doubt ChrisR will have a look and discern rather more.

Just been looking at users instructions - red light next to triangle indicates lack of water flowpressure, but that's been checked above.
