Ariston, Worcester and Vaillant which one?

8) the worcester or the vaillant, at the moment I`m fitting worcester 28i juniors.
so far they`ve all been nice and reliable.
but then I do powerflush and clean the system properly.

if viessmaan sounds like a panzer division the i would bye one myself as the germans managed to build bloody good tanks.

Go with the Vaillant, the WB juniors etc are good boilers, but they seem a bit more fragile than the Vaillant's. Also at the minute the flueing options on the Vaillant are better. SE Ariston's were OK; cheap & cheerful but as an installer I would reccommend the Vaillant all the way, they're virtually all I put in now. Never any problems so far.

Viessmann are great boilers, a bit more expensive than the Vaillant, however sourcing the boilers (and parts!) can be problematic. The last thing you want in a few years if it breaks down is being told that the parts have to be ordered from Austria and will take 2 weeks!

don't be discouraged by the look of the viessmaan it will most probably outlive yourself

ACOperson. Looking at the options they have the ecotec and max is there anyone you think is the better. I have a 3 bed detached house which I worked out ~30kw would be more than enough.
If I have one installed I assume they need to clean the system, is there anything else they should be doing? Was looking around and you can buy devices which fit in series with the heating and collect the deposits from the radiators, are these a worth while investment and if so any you would consider a better buy?

they are good, we fit the Fernox "boiler Buddy" and have been impressed with it

Keston have recommended for years that a strainer should be fitted on the return to their boilers if installed in an existing system. But I cannot recall seeing it in any other manuals.

I've always thought that it very sound advice but it is essential they are checked and cleaned out on a regular basis (particularly following the works) to ensure water flow rate is not reduced  If the boiler has an integral pump and bypass it is not such a problem as the flow rate will be maintained.

The Ecotec + combi is cheaper than the Ecomax, and just as good in my opinion. They are in reality very similar. How many bathrooms in your place? You may be better to go for an unvented hot water system (eg Megaflow) with a heating boiler if you have more than one bathroom, as it will be better equipped to cope with the hot water demands.

The boiler buddy type devices are great, but make sure that your installer cleans the system out well first, they are not an alternative to powerflushing!!

Iv only got the one bathroom and we dont tend to demand lots of hot water as we have an electric shower and never enough time to have a bath.
So by the sound of it the ecotec is the way forward, I will have to get some quotes now I have a better understanding of what Im looking for.
