Looking for a smarter way to manage your heating this winter? We’ve been testing the new Aqara Radiator Thermostat W600 to see how quiet, accurate and easy it is to use around the home. Click here read our review.
What would your take be? A 25mm three core (32mm dia) is run through a stud partition, so cable cannot be < 50mm from surface. Is SWA of the cable sufficient protection, or should additional armour be provided?
However, a cable of that size also warrents a little extra precaution in my opinion. From a safety point of view you have complied with the regs, but it would be a bitch if that cable was damaged by a nail or screw. Ideally it would be routed elsewhere, if it had to go in the wall then I would be looking to cap it with some galv trunk lid or similar.
But as I say, to comply, SWA directly inthe wall is fine, no matter what the size.
