is this stuff any good?
my bathroom which was two rooms has a pitched ceiling, one half is rough artex, the other smooth plaster.
I need to smooth the ceiling. is the smooth over paint any good and easy to use?
i've thought about plasterboarding the ceiling but i cant figure out where the rafters are to screw into. plus i'm on my own so cant lift the boards up.
i've never plastered before so skimming is out of the question. again i cant get anyone to do it at a reasonable cost. its only 2m x 3 m but pitched.
so i've bought two tubs of the smooth over.. wondering if its a mistake and any tips if it wasnt?

its good stuff, but depends how deep the artex youre trying to cover is. Its not really intended for that sort of application, but i cant see why it wont do the job if thats your only option. Do it in gradual layers to build it up rather than trying to do it all in one go.
If youre trying to find the joists, then use a hammer and small nail to track them down. As for lifting the board, use smaller boards, like the type they sell in wickes as they are more managable.

good luck
