Artichoke And Other Foods Said To Aid Weight Loss

Yeah, I used to be 6' 1", but I think I've shrunk a tiny bit.

Might be wear on the hip joints, which can be renewed.

Spinal compression can't, but makes you taller when you get out of bed in the morning than after standing all day. Shows up when you adjust your car mirror mornings and evenings.

Last Friday's weight. 140.3 kg.

Lost 32.2 kg so far since going into hospital on 23/11/24.

Not sure if I mentioned it here, but I found a mention on here 22 years ago of my weight being 120.5 kg.

February 2004, that was.
I can't become 38 again, but I will definitely aim for 120 kg and beyond! Beginning to sound like Buzz Lightyear now...

Or in my case, more like Dud Slightjeer...

No food aids weight loss.

By which I mean "No Food" aids weight loss, i.e. stop stuffing food in your mouth.

Well done on the weight loss. I've got too heavy lately. I like food (a lot), so exercise is my only means of losing weight. Depending on your area it might be worth checking if your GP can presscribe a gym membership. You'll often get a few months for free followed by a discounted price.

Keep working on it. I've been overweight for years. Lost some in 2024, gained it back in 2025, now trying to lose it again. Once I hit 110kg I notice health issues (raised BP, pre-diabetes, high cholesterol, poor liver function etc.).

Just had some soup. Aiming for slow steady weight loss (although a bit too slow at the moment) so that it is easier to manage long term. A know several people who are on the new weight loss drugs, but other than costing hundreds of pounds a month, I know they will struggle to keep the weight off once the chemicals leave their bodies.

THe quickest I recently lost weight was when my tooth fell apart and I was waiting for a crown to be fitted - soup twice a day. Didn't really feel that hungry between soups either.

Lost only 2kg so far this year. Need to work harder! And walk more.

I've just encountered exactly the same issues, at exactly the same weight, the heaviest I've ever been.

The bigger people you see all over the place must have all kinds of issues.

I'm joining the gym. I want to be thin, it's much nicer.

I'm utterly boring where weight is concerned. I hover around 12.5 stone and have done for the last couple of decades. If I feel my weight is increasing, I eat less. After Christmas my weight had ballooned to 13 stone 3. I have an apple, narna and orange for breakfast and a sandwich for lunch. Then a decent size tea. I NEVER eat between meals.
I'm 5'11"

I never thought I'd agree with you :giggle: but I fit most of that

Eating in between meals is the biggest reason why we have a nation of overweight people, unless you exercise daily don't go near the fridge, even walking is a good way to aid weight loss. We keep sliced carrotts and celery sticks in the fridge so whenever you get the need to eat, its healthy and lovely cold out of the fridge. we keep lots of apples in our fridge but you have to be careful with fruit as they can be full of sugar.

That's a surprise. I thought you lived on pot noodles and lion bars.
