Hi all

I've recently bought some made to measure blinds. Two wooden venetian and two standard venetian. The upper lintel of the window recesses in which I'm going to install them sound hollow - I am assuming that they are plasterboard.

I am wondering therefore whether it'd be OK to use a couple of plasterboard fixings, or whether it would be better to affix a wooden batten in order to spread the load.

i hate timber battens.

i think they look naff and i feel i'm doing the job twice.

i would go for a good plasterboard fixing (something like screwfix 59210 - this type clamps itself against the plasterboard)
