Hi Guys,
Got a job for a LL in an air b&b, heating system is shared over a flat upstairs and a flat downstairs, currently there's a gate valve used as a bypass, they're complaining that rads near cylinder are getting hot, when I got there the cylinder stat was at 70°c and the gate valve was fully open, lol no wonder the rads were getting hot, I adhusted the cylinder stat and shut the valve down to next to nothing and they still were getting some heat and then shut it off fully and they were still getting heat, I could feel it passing through the bypass (gatevalve) I am due to go back and swap a rad valve and the gate valve, I was contemplating fitting a 15mm auto bypass in place of the gate valve, however 15mm auto bypasses seem to be around £130 so that's not an option, my question is is it feasible to fit a 22mm auto valve with 15mm reducers either side. Will it still operate correctly. The landlord is unlikely to pay for pipework alterations etc but I'd like to do it and it work correctly to avoid callbacks.
