Hi,

I’m currently fitting B&Q goodhome caraway kitchen base Units.

I have a 1000 base unit which will be fitted as a straight corner and be used for a sink.
Within their instructions they say to move the top back rail down the unit and cut out the top of the back panel if fitting a sink or hob.
I’ve not had to do this before with previous kitchen units.
Can I ask if carrying out these steps is necessary and by doing so will this effect the fitting of a worktop as it will only be able to sit on the front and side panels of the unit and also will this effect the fitting of an undermount sink?

Thanks!

You can leave it as a full panel, drill holes to pass hot, cold and waste pipes and have the service valves inside the cabinet rather than in the void.

Thanks for that, so there is no need to move the back rail down as well then like they show. This can just go in the top of the unit?
