Hi all,
I'm moving into a new old house (400years+) and it has a "lovely" 70's gas fire and back boiler. The house is small and only has about 4 rads.
The plan...
Rip out the fire and the back boiler and put in a combi boiler.
How do I start to remove the fire and the boiler, "bearing" in mind I'm fine with plumbing and am a chippy and competant bricky (can also plaster)... What can I do and what should I let the Corgi bloke do.
Main Aim: SAVE MONEY WITHOUT KILLING THE WHOLE OF THE STREET.
Cheers,
Z. any  's

Get a corgi man to disconnect and cap off the gas supply to the bbu....thats it. If I were you I would drain everything down and ask your installer what he would like you to remove before he starts....he may want to utilise some of the exsisting pipework.

Get CORGI to cut off gas supply to BBU and discuss where new combi can go and how gas supply in 22 mm can get there.

Make sure he measures water supply rate and explains the limitations of combi boilers.

The take him out for a meal at the Wharf Inn and discuss the whole installation in detail.
