Back step Tiles

Hi All

First time user, so please be kind.
I'm a novice with DIY so i thought i would get some advice.
My fron door has a couple of steps witl tiles on them. The tiles are cracking and coming loose so are needing replaced. However i was thinking that there may be a better idea to decorate the steps than simple tiles.
Does anyone have any suggestions.
Any help much appreciated
