bad starting Volcane TD

1995 ZX Volcane 1.9 turbo diesel
ive got real bad starting problems after the car has been left over night, it was occasional 1 - 2 times a week but now its every morning it takes a couple of minutes to get it going have to stop and start turning it over 5-6 times min before it will start to fire and then get going, ive changed the glow plugs old ones were fine, changed the cold start idler a month ago didn’t make any difference, the strange thing is once its started it will start first go all day long,
Any one with any ideas id be very grateful thanks

If your Td has a Imobiliser fitted, it could be the battery in the remote blip.

Otherwise if it has a Bosch fuel pump system then it could be a hidden crack in the leak off pipes from injector to injector and the return pipe from the injectors to the pump. Best to replace them as if there is a leak the fuel will drain back and cause bad starting. This does not apply to the Lucas/CAV pumps.
