Hi

I have a composite door (a Solidor) installed about 15 years ago so is no longer under any guarantee.

The door wasn't installed very well so despite adjusting the hinges, the gaps between the frame and slab are all over the place. And the frame moves a bit (doesn't feel very solid) when you shut the door.

The problem is the frame isn't tied directly into masonry, rather there's 2x2" battens between the masonry and the frame. And these battens are kind of floating between the masonry and the frame, they're not fastened to either very well.

I was thinking of removing the door and frame, sorting the timberwork and then reinstalling the frame and then door.

What problems do you think I might have with 'non destructively' removing a frame?

Any advice would be appreciated :)

Cheers
