I occasionaly have to access my basement and have to use a torch to see with. (Headroom is just short of 2 metres, so I can walk around in it). I'd like to install lights run through the floor, from a plug-point in my living room. I think that 5, 60w lights would be adequate throughout.
Can I wire them all in sequence and just plug in for illumination, or should I use a ring attachment and send cables individually to each one. (Or is there a better way altogether. - I don't want to get involved with running cables to the fuse-box. It's only for very occasional use. - Access to stop-cocks, etc.)
Any advice much appreciated.

lighting circuits are not run in rings.

use a 5A FCU for your spur.
