So I fitted the basin to the wall last night using one of the basin fitting kits that involves putting bolts into the wall and hanging the basin from them, similar to this kit;

http://www.screwfix.com/p/fischer-basin-fixing-kit/71804

However due to slight misalignment (I guess), the basin when fitted on the bolts does not sit on the pedestal, (which in hindsight is lucky, as the underside of the basin is shaped such that it would have to be sat over the preposition pedestal, which would make plumbing in awkward to say the least!).
Anyhoo, due to one reason or another, the basin does not physically connect with the pedestal. The basin itself seems fine & nicely secured to the wall, but the pedestal will move if knocked, (presumably because it doesn't have the basin sat on it!).
Bearing in mind that the pedestal will need to be removed to access the trap in case of any problems, what is the recommended method for anchoring / stabalising the pedestal? Is there some kind of foam padding that I could place between the pedestal and the basin, or should I be looking to somehow secure the pedestal to the floor?

Thanks :)

Lower the basin so it sits on the pedestal.

Screw pedestal to floor using the 2 holes on the base of the back of the pedestal.

What is the height difference, if it's a couple of mill, screw the pedestal to the floor, and run a bead of silicone, if it's a lot more than that refix the basin.

What is the flooring, if only a couple of mm difference can you not raise the pedestal

Looked at the pedestal, no way it can be screwed to the floor. Guess I'll just squib some silicone in between the sink and pedestal to stabilise it :)
