I have a single roof tile exhaust point with 2 bathrooms located next to each other. I plan to link the 2 via a Y connector so that both exhaust through the roof tile.

In reality both bathrooms will rarely be used at the same time but it is possible.

The extract units will be located in the loft above.

Which of the 2 options below is the best. Locations shown on the drawings are indicitive of distances between the mushrooms in teh bathrooms, extract units and roof vent.

My preference would be the top option as it reduces pipe runs. Is there any issue with this?

Also are insulated ducts required?

Could you use a single inline extractor on the blue/purple line which just comes on when either bathroom switch is on, and extracts from both?
