I am trying to instal a bathroom extractor fan which will continue extracting for a pre-settable time after the light is turned off. The fan has 3 connections - neutral, switched live and live, but the light switch I want to connect to only has live and neutral. Where do I get the extra live from? Thanks in anticipation.

Sorry - misread OP - ignore what I said previously. Indeed, there is no neutral at the light SWITCH. try disconnecting the light - you may find the circuit has looped in there - but as its unlikely to be a ceiling rose pendant in a bathroom, the circuit is likely to be looped at a junction box in the loft, where you will find live, neutral and switched live.
