I am planning a bathroom refit and one of the jobs is to install a wall mounted extractor.

The bathroom is quite small and the fan will be mounted to the wall over the bath (opposite end to the shower head).

It it acceptable to have the isolator and fused spur outside of the bathroom or must the fused spur be next to the fan unit on the wall?

I would prefer to install this like this as all the fused spur boxes are a little unsightly in such a small room.. I plan to channel out and hide all the cable.

You will require to notify your Local Authority Building Control before you start this work, pay their fee and be in a position to provide them with test results for the circuit you have altered/created.

Alternatively, speak to an electrician, he will design the circuit for you - he may also supervise you completing the grunt work before testing and signing of the work for your Local Council.
