i am in process of putting in new shower room in cupboard. electrician let me down and 1 made rash promise to be finished for xmas so seeing if i can do my self.
i have existing light in room on rose with switch inside, wondered if i could just change switch to pull cord from ceiling and take off rose in roof to one of those in line fans and lights (like from screwfix) or do i need another power feed. can i also run a couple of spots off rose?? i realise all this electrical but put here becasue my second problem is venting the fan in the roof void. the building is very old with a very strange roof which means i cannot run ducting to soffit and wall is 2 ft thick stone. i wondered if i could connect duct into toilet stack vent which is very close? any issues smell etc???
cheers jon

not sure about electrical side of things but the dont even think about conecting a extractor to svp mate  what sort of roof tile or is it slate have you got ? you can get purpose made or universal tiles just for this job.

they appear to be pretty standard concrete tiles. is there anyway i can fit this through roof from inside as roof is 4 storeys and i dont have ladder long enough? cheers jon
as matter of interest why not into vent for toilet as air flow will be away from shower?

would need to be done from outside . with a view to connecting to svp why do you think your wc has a u bend , can you imagine the smell if not, to connect to it with a vent would be the same thing, but in your shower . 2 foot thick walls and 4 storeys high do you live in a castle by chance :D
