I just had a new bathroom suite installed in the house I rented out, as the old bathtub has cracked. As the photo shows, the new toilet base is a different size/shape to the original so there is a gap on the floor. Same problem with the hand basin as well. Is there any cheaper way to address this issue apart from replacing the whole vinyl flooring? I have just spent £1100 on the bathroom suite, so would be reluctant to spend more. If I leave it for now, I am concerned that over time water may damage that bit of bare wood floor. Would appreciate any advice!!

Where the shape is different, has the subfloor ply/hardboard been cut to shape as well as the top Vinyl ?
