Hi. I 'pulled on' the light above my bathroom mirror but it will not 'pull off' no matter how many ways I try to manipulate the string. Taking off the cover has put the light out (looks like some kind of safety feature).

Is there a fix for the string problem or is it a case of just getting a new unit? Thanks for your time.

I had this, it's like the mechanical part has got stuck, switch the electrics off and replace, it just saves messing around

[Edit]

Actually, as it's in the bathroom, I don't know whether you are allowed to do it as it's in a water based environment, hopefully someone will correct me

They often are that sort of thing.

RS, Farnell, etc should have a suitable replacement.

Hi again. In the second pic above (the switch with the rounded top), what would you call that? I looked in Farnell under 'pull cord switches' but saw nothing similar. Thanks.
