Hi,
I have a problem with my shaver light and I'm not sure what to do. It's very difficult to find links or resources on this matter and the problem goes like this:

the light bulb itself is fine but it operates via a pulling string switch, when I pull the string the light comes on but when i let go (in the same go) it goes off, thus it only ever comes on when I pull the string and hold it that way. Previously, I had the problem in that it would turn off when I fully pulled it but never went off and somehow it did manage to switch off.

Any advice or links would be helpful! The problem seems to be in the pulling switch,
Thanks in advance,
Aziii

You mean change the pulling switch? That's the only part with the problem but I have no clue how to, would there be any resources, links etc?
Thanks in advance..

Yes, sounds like you need to change the pull switch. Good job for tomorrow. Turn off the electric, carefully remove the screws to allow the front part of the switch to drop down. Note where each wire goes. Can you post the info from the back of the switch and where the wires go? Hopefully it will only have 2 wires in it and will be a streight swop for a bog standard 1 way pull cord switch.

Methinks this may be a mini pull cord on the shaver light itself...

I think you can buy those switches from the likes of CPC, or you could try your local electric parts shop.

Do you have any of those shower gel bottles with a hook on them? tie a loop on the end of the string and hang full bottles on there. ;)

EEh i dont know, you're all that stuck on trying to get him a new switch, spending the poor guy's money! The solution is free!

Hi,
Thanks everyone for your help and input. I opened up the side of the shaver light today and I found the switch isn't actually connected to the entire shaver light and is pretty independant to the actual light itself. I've uploaded pictures for others to see what I'm dealing with, I don't think it would be useful but just interesting in case anyone else ever encountered this problem:

Any idea what sort of switch this is? I'm thinking of taking it off and showing it to someone at a local DIY store,
Thanks again in advance,
Aziiii

Unlike someone suggested previously, this has three wires

Thanks for the link :D

the red and brown will be the mains in, and the mains to the shaver socket. the one on its own goes to the light. I reckon.
