Mr Hewstone did several excellent bathroom fittings for me and my friends. 10 years on our bathroom is as good as it was then. We are about to move to our new home and would very much to use the same Mr David Hewstone (Meargrove) who now away from orpington. If any one knows where about he is please kindly let us know. If thats the correct spelling then there are only two in the entire UK.
However, based on other postings we see on here, he could equally be called "Houston". Thats another name.

Dont you have any address where he lived? Current owners might know how to contact him.

I was kneeling in front of a boiler a couple of weeks ago when the owner told me that a previous engineer they called had a heart attack and died in front of the boiler!

Flippin' 'eck Agile! I bet that put you off!!! (Reminder for the relevant British Standards committee...make sure that all boilers face Mecca / Rome / Jerusalem / Amritsar??) It does remind you to remove the fuse and check the earthing of appliances though. I expect an electrocution could ressemble a heart attack?

I meant that he should measure the burner pressure, and check that the drain off cock isn't leaking.
I know what you mean though - I wouldn't want to be seen stooping to the level of a discussion about gas emissions.
