hi
i am doing my whole bathroom. as i started to strip away old tiles, some nasty plasterwork revealed itself. i romeved the loose plaster but then even some of the brickwork was so loose that i had to to remove some bricks too.
now i have a solid but very bad wall.

could someone please tell me what plaster to use if i want to tile. so waterproofing is vital.

can i plaster with sand/cement morter mix? do i need a finishing plaster or is there a spesific plaster for wetrooms and bathrooms?
once that is done, do i need to treat the wall with something for the tiles to stick?

any help would be great
thanks

carlitebonding, a super smooth finish isnt needed for tiling

I would hack off the rest of the plaster and rebuild the parts where the brick-work is missing and then would put Expanding metal all over the area then scratch coat float it out and skim it . It doesn't look too structually sound to me, so by doing what I said would strengthen it all up.. Just my opinion ... Good Luck..
